The last few weeks have flown by in a way that leaves you exhausted on an Tuesday night wondering how it already got to be September. It seems that even though we move across the country, busyness-- of the best kind-- follows us and sneakily creeps into our life.
Without even a nod to the fact that our time in Arizona is limited, the kids have settled in making friends, joining sports teams, and making sure I don't forget what the after-school shuttle service feels like. (Thanks, guys!).
JP is studying over the next four weeks under the expert care of Master Sensai (Mom, he starting training when he was 9 and now he's 55....that's why he's a Master) learning self-defense and basic karate skills. All I have to say is: watch out Lance-- while your quick wits and agility have given you the upper hand thus far, JP may soon be able to out maneuver you (or at least swiftly knock the wind out of your sails!)
Lance is enrolled in a month long exploration of track and field-- the first day was, in his words, "sooo easy." "Just a few Indian runs, relay races, and 100 yard sprints." Right. Piece. Of. Cake. Definitely takes after his dad on that one.
Seth and the mighty Falcons won their last game-- although the sweet taste of victory was dampened by their coach who informed them after the game that their opponents had only practiced for two days. Ouch. I guess that a 16-8 spread didn't really reflect the way they should have dominated.
Forget snips and snails, and puppy dog tails. These boys are made of boundless energy, driven by competition, and always moving. No wonder I'm exhausted.
